Remember This One?

A song a hadn't heard in a long while, found recently whilst killing time. A good time for advice, what with the recent December graduates, the new year already beating some down, and just for the heck of it.

So, what applies to you? For me, just about everything, but the one that resonates particularly strong right now, is

Get to know your parents, you'll never know when they'll be gone for good...

Good advice, that.

backstory here.

Good advice, but it only makes sense to us old coots.
Youth is one of those things that you can't really see for what it is, until you have gone through it and are looking back at it.

Bobg- are you saying youth is wasted on the young?

Sniggle- It sure as hell is!!! LOL
Murph, the two that hit me were be kind to your knees, that one is DEFINTELY true...sigh...

The other is hang on to your friends- At 56, I see mine starting to die, and it hurts. Also it forces us to confront our own mortality.

Thanks for an excellent post.

The dental professional in me says that Floss! applies. Be kind to your teeth- God gave you the first set, you'll have to pay for the second.

The one with true personal meaning for me was "Don't be reckless with other people's hearts.". If we practice that in every relationship, be it friend, family or loved one, the rest will sort of fall into place.

And always apply sunscreen to your knees. ;-)

Snigs - As well as sunscreen, maybe you should take pictures of your knees. You know, so that in 20 years you can look back, 'in a way you can't imagine now...'

BobG & Old NFO - Thanks.

My knees aren't worth taking pictures of to look back on. They're shot thanks to prancing around in a blooming tutu too many years. Now if someone else wants a picture of my knees, they can send a SASE to a random gas station in Alabama and I'll fix them right up.
